Psalm 67

For the director of music. With stringed instruments. A psalm. A song.

1 May God be gracious to us and bless us
and make his face shine upon us,
Selah
2 that your ways may be known on earth,
your salvation among all nations.

3 May the peoples praise you, O God;
may all the peoples praise you.

4 May the nations be glad and sing for joy,
for you rule the peoples justly
and guide the nations of the earth.
Selah

5 May the peoples praise you, O God;
may all the peoples praise you.

6 Then the land will yield its harvest,
and God, our God, will bless us.

7 God will bless us,
and all the ends of the earth will fear him.

Eunice: The psalm repeats time and again, that the Lord will bless us. Something happened this morning, few minutes ago, something not very pleasant. But, I believe its God's way of telling me that He is in control and that he wll bless me. Even though the situation may not look good, even though there are so many reasons for me to ask Him why this is happening. I want to be still and know that He is God, and He will bless, if I let Him take control of the situation. I will have the victory of God's blessing out of this!

Chin Chin : Oh Yes! Our God will bless us! no matter what it seems like in various circumstances! :D I'd like to give thanks! Many times, Chiwern has been wanting to change his job but it seems like there was no confirmation to move, neither open doors... and after a few bouts of confirmation yesterday, he will receive another pay raise above the raise he's gotten earlier, coupled with a promotion! God's timing is the best and his training is one that we can feel safe in! We really thank God for the timely raise! God's ways are defintely higher than ours! Praise the Lord for his blessing!

Pam: I was reminded that I must praise the Lord in all circumstances.... no matter what happens... we will praise Him... And I will praise You!

Crow: I praise you Lord!!!! Thank you Father for helping me through this week. You are indeed faithful and just..... O LOrd, may all people from all the nations praise u! May u send us forth to bless the many nations!! Praise you Lord my God!!

Dellia: Lord, let Your face always shine upon us...that the favour of the Lord is always with us!

Psalm 66 - Thurs

For the director of music. A song. A psalm.

1 Shout with joy to God, all the earth!
2 Sing the glory of his name;
make his praise glorious!

3 Say to God, "How awesome are your deeds!
So great is your power
that your enemies cringe before you.

4 All the earth bows down to you;
they sing praise to you,
they sing praise to your name."

5 Come and see what God has done,
how awesome his works in man's behalf!

6 He turned the sea into dry land,
they passed through the waters on foot—
come, let us rejoice in him.

7 He rules forever by his power,
his eyes watch the nations—
let not the rebellious rise up against him.

8 Praise our God, O peoples,
let the sound of his praise be heard;

9 he has preserved our lives
and kept our feet from slipping.

10 For you, O God, tested us;
you refined us like silver.

11 You brought us into prison
and laid burdens on our backs.

12 You let men ride over our heads;
we went through fire and water,
but you brought us to a place of abundance.

13 I will come to your temple with burnt offerings
and fulfill my vows to you-

14 vows my lips promised and my mouth spoke
when I was in trouble.

15 I will sacrifice fat animals to you
and an offering of rams;
I will offer bulls and goats.

16 Come and listen, all you who fear God;
let me tell you what he has done for me.

17 I cried out to him with my mouth;
his praise was on my tongue.

18 If I had cherished sin in my heart,
the Lord would not have listened;

19 but God has surely listened
and heard my voice in prayer.

20 Praise be to God,
who has not rejected my prayer
or withheld his love from me!

Eunice: Today's Psalm is really an awesome praise to the Lord. vs 10 -12 says that God brought the trials n testings. He laid bricks on our back, then bring us to a land of abundance. Its like a construction worker, working under the big hot sun, all the toil n all. This hardship that I cannot imagine. The abundance, is the $$ they get at the end of the day, to send it home, or the dinner that they have after work. I mean, its just an analogy, but yet,Pastor Khong said on Sunday : if you've nv been through hard times, you will nv cherish the good ones. I want to be the one that will tell the world like in vs 16, of what the Lord has done for me! and vs 19 really assures me that, God listens and hears my prayers. and.. come on sisters.. Tell the world that Jesus lives! =)

Chin Ling: This psalm reminded me that there is a season for everything. A season of trials for God's people to draw nearer, a season of abundance for God's people to rejoice in him. A season of waiting for, God's people to come and pray to him in desperation. A season for everything... but in every season, Shout and Bow down,Sing praise to the Lord!

Dellia: Reading the Psalm & also Ps Debra's devotional book has reminded me that I must praise God for everything! Today I wanna share with all of you how good God has been to me. OH...the Lord has blessed us with a vacancy in another child care & wow...as I thought of it....it was really a miracle....because there were so many applications...but yet, we were given the priority!! Haaa..chin chin...this is true right?? yeah...so God is good! Remember to always praise & declare His favour on your life!

Sara: For me, i was brought back to verses 10 onwards, and I'm trying to remind myself that the Lord's testing and trials upon is with the purpose of refining us, and more importantly, He does it because He loves me! He has his reason for doing everything, even if my simple mind cannot comprehend. Just to share, last week i actually had to teach my kids about the parable of the landowner and the workers in his vineyard, and to my surprise, I myself could not agree with the reasoning behind it. (Matthew 20:1-16) The landowner promised a denarius to those whom he asked to work in his vineyard... so that was the thing - The worker who worked for 12 hrs got one denarius, and the worker who worked for 1 hr also got one denarius! but was it unfair? the landowner did fulfill his promise right. BUT to me honestly, if I were the worker who worked 12 hrs, i would have felt real cheated, and disgruntled. why other ppl work 1 hr, and they can get the same as what i earned for 12 hrs of work?!

The point is, if we focus on other people's blessings and start comparing and grow disgruntled, we might actually miss out on God's purpose & work in our lives. And this hit me really bad even after Sun's Barnabas..because i think of my own life, and I know that im obstinate, and even after reading this, i will still struggle if i was the worker who worked 12 hrs for 1 denarius.. because it is such human nature to compare... sigh.... what a hard lesson...

Huijuan: Thank God i fell sick cos i was able to jus rest at home sleeping. Sometimes i jus marvel that God's goodness in my life, so many blessings..thank God.

Psalm 65 - Wednesday

Psalm 65

For the director of music. A psalm of David. A song.

1 Praise awaits ^[a] you, O God, in Zion;
to you our vows will be fulfilled.

2 O you who hear prayer,
to you all men will come.

3 When we were overwhelmed by sins,
you forgave ^[b] our transgressions.

4 Blessed are those you choose
and bring near to live in your courts!
We are filled with the good things of your house,
of your holy temple.

5 You answer us with awesome deeds of righteousness,
O God our Savior,
the hope of all the ends of the earth
and of the farthest seas,

6 who formed the mountains by your power,
having armed yourself with strength,

7 who stilled the roaring of the seas,
the roaring of their waves,
and the turmoil of the nations.

8 Those living far away fear your wonders;
where morning dawns and evening fades
you call forth songs of joy.

9 You care for the land and water it;
you enrich it abundantly.
The streams of God are filled with water
to provide the people with grain,
for so you have ordained it. ^[c]

10 You drench its furrows
and level its ridges;
you soften it with showers
and bless its crops.

11 You crown the year with your bounty,
and your carts overflow with abundance.

12 The grasslands of the desert overflow;
the hills are clothed with gladness.

13 The meadows are covered with flocks
and the valleys are mantled with grain;
they shout for joy and sing.

Chin Ling: I claim all of God's goodness for me in the psalm! Praise awaits him because I will praise him!

Huijuan: Today i will learn to spend 1 hour in his presence, praising Him. :)

Eunice: Wow...! I woke up feeling v good today.. Praise the Lord! vs 5-7 is a magnificent display of the little things God can do. but, yet, this is just the beginning. He can do more! God gave me a new understanding of things today.. which made me think "wha.. God.. 你用心良苦.. go one big round, we're coming back to point#1.. " yeaps.. God, thank you for being patient with me.. Thank you for providing for me..

Aileen: I really love nature and today's psalms depicts such a vivid image of how God does that. I'm really reminded of his goodness and faithfulness as a farmer! How he loves his land. I will love mine too

Sara: When I read this, I could see God's wondrous hands at work... of how He forms the mountains, loves and cares for the land and the stream, and how He enriches it abundantly and bless the crops.. This is the extent of how much he loves the works of His hands. And how much more He cares for me! I shall clothe myself with gladness and sing of His love all of my days!

Dellia: V4 repeats phase "what joy await us" and I'm reminded that at times when I run dry and tired and feel weary...when I enter the Lord's presence, I can find joy! V9 also says that "the rivers of God will not run dry"! Lord, bring me into Your presence so that I will never be thirsty again!

Psalm 64 - Tuesday

Psalm 64

For the director of music. A psalm of David.

1 Hear me, O God, as I voice my complaint;
protect my life from the threat of the enemy.

2 Hide me from the conspiracy of the wicked,
from that noisy crowd of evildoers.

3 They sharpen their tongues like swords
and aim their words like deadly arrows.

4 They shoot from ambush at the innocent man;
they shoot at him suddenly, without fear.

5 They encourage each other in evil plans,
they talk about hiding their snares;
they say, "Who will see them ^[a] ?"

6 They plot injustice and say,
"We have devised a perfect plan!"
Surely the mind and heart of man are cunning.

7 But God will shoot them with arrows;
suddenly they will be struck down.

8 He will turn their own tongues against them
and bring them to ruin;
all who see them will shake their heads in scorn.

9 All mankind will fear;
they will proclaim the works of God
and ponder what he has done.

10 Let the righteous rejoice in the LORD
and take refuge in him;
let all the upright in heart praise him!

Dellia: The Lord reminds me that I can take refuge in Him.

Chin Ling: It is in God that I remain righteous, that I find the strength to thing noble, good, kind thoughts, and plan actions in his will. As I take refuge in God, I pray he also keep me in check and protect me from the ways of the evil one. Amen.

Crow: at first when i read this psalm, nothing spoke to me... but as i read through verse 10 again, i truly thank the Lord for always being my refuge, for sheltering me and reaching out to me even b4 i reach out to Him.. I know the Lord looks out for me and takes such good care of me. Thank You dear Lord!

Pam: v3-4 reminded me how "posionous" our tongue can be.... learnt to watch what I sae n how I sae.....!

Eunice: God's angel told me this today: "When we worship, we soak in the pressence of God and in His pressence there's fullness of joy and the joy of God is our strength :) another way is to find rest under His wings and not worry or care abt anything else. just make up your mind to do this for awhile u'll feel better." v10 comes in, to re-emphasize God, waving to me, to come n rest under His wings for refuge.. Lord.. Here I come...to be still in your presence and I can praise the Lord... =) !

Sara: vs 9 and 10 is a reminder to me that the Lord delights in those who hear Him and will proclaim of his works and ponder what he has done. Even in the midst of busyness, I would like to find time to find rest in Him and ponder over His goodness in my life and what He brings and has in store each day! Give me not a complaining heart, but a heart filled with thanksgiving!

Psalm 63 - Monday

Psalm 63
A psalm of David. When he was in the Desert of Judah.

1 O God, you are my God,
earnestly I seek you;
my soul thirsts for you,
my body longs for you,
in a dry and weary land
where there is no water.

2 I have seen you in the sanctuary
and beheld your power and your glory.

3 Because your love is better than life,
my lips will glorify you.

4 I will praise you as long as I live,
and in your name I will lift up my hands.

5 My soul will be satisfied as with the richest of foods;
with singing lips my mouth will praise you.

6 On my bed I remember you;
I think of you through the watches of the night.

7 Because you are my help,
I sing in the shadow of your wings.

8 My soul clings to you;
your right hand upholds me.

9 They who seek my life will be destroyed;
they will go down to the depths of the earth.

10 They will be given over to the sword
and become food for jackals.

11 But the king will rejoice in God;
all who swear by God's name will praise him,
while the mouths of liars will be silenced.

Pam: Thank God for His love for me! Indeed I want to cling onto you... so much of my own thots/ways juz keep lingering around... wats is acceptable or not, wats is rite or wrong... hee hee.. I feel tat as I grow older... its becoming a struggle to decipher... oh Lord... tat I will earnestly seek you! Amen! Good mondae to you all sisters!

Eunice: vs 7 reminds me that I am in the shadow of His wings, and I will sing of his goodness. The Lord is my help..

Aileen: as i did my solitude with my girls yesterday, i really begin to ponder whether my job has become a career rather than a calling. yesterday's psalms reminded me not to set my heart on riches.. wah jia lat, kena scolding.. and i told the lord that yes lord, how could i forget your goodness and only look at what i can do? i will wait and if the lord wants me to stay here i will because how can i go without the lord's anointing? so today as i read this psalms vs 5 " my soul will be satisfied as with the richest of foods, with singing lips my mouth will praise you" i wanna be like pamela who can say, thank God for the extra $10! so.. thank God for my increment and my promotion offer!

Chin Ling: I've read V2 and V3 and really reflected on where God has brought me in his glory and his grace. How good he has been to me! I want to look to Jesus only, through all the good and bad...I want to behold his glory..and seek his presence. All else of things, i let go. I love God and all the times he has brought me through. !! He's the most amazing best friend I have.

Dellia: v6-V8 kinda reminds me of like dating time!!! Haaa...it's as if you know when you are in love, you will lie in bed and think of the good times you have with your love one...and get excited to meet him the next day! The lord then ask me if He is truly the love of my life....oh dear...so wah right?? today Lord, teach me and make me love You more! Sorry for not loving You as much !

Crow: For me, I am reminded of the song "My heart longs for you my savior.. I will follow you my Lord.. Your kindness and love are vast as the skies.." and the Lord reminds me to seek him earnestly each day, and not only wait till the land is dry and weary..

Psalm 62 - Sunday

Psalm 62
For the director of music. For Jeduthun. A psalm of David.

1 My soul finds rest in God alone;
my salvation comes from him.

2 He alone is my rock and my salvation;
he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.

3 How long will you assault a man?
Would all of you throw him down—
this leaning wall, this tottering fence?

4 They fully intend to topple him
from his lofty place;
they take delight in lies.
With their mouths they bless,
but in their hearts they curse.

5 Find rest, O my soul, in God alone;
my hope comes from him.

6 He alone is my rock and my salvation;
he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.

7 My salvation and my honor depend on God;
he is my mighty rock, my refuge.

8 Trust in him at all times, O people;
pour out your hearts to him,
for God is our refuge.

Dellia: The song "find rest my soul, in Christ alone. Know His power, in quietness and trust...when the oceans rise & thunders roar, I will soar with You above the storm. Father, You are King over the flood. I will be still & know You are God". I feel overwhelm and tired but today I know the Lord is speaking to find rest in Him, in Him and Him alone! =)

Chin Ling: I really want to learn to be like David. To speak to myself before allowing myself or the enemy to speak to me first! To be constantly aware of the greatness of the Lord!

Eunice: I think I'm @ a point when I am very tired.. yes.. very tired, and tempted to walk away, cos.. it seems like its the easier way out. so tempted to not seek God's strength. Rejoicing seems to be something tht is difficult. but Pastor reminded me how much joy it brings to just reach out n feel God, how I used to stand in wide-opened wonder in amazement of God n his works. Lord, I want to find rest in you. Only before you that my soul is speechless. Lord I want to be balancing in you. Lord I pray that I will not falter away.

Crow: Lord, help me to always rest in you.. and know that only you can satisfy, and only you can bring me hope, unfailing love and total forgiveness..Thank you Lord

Psalm 61 - Saturday

Psalm 61

For the director of music. With stringed instruments. Of David.

1 Hear my cry, O God;
listen to my prayer.

2 From the ends of the earth I call to you,
I call as my heart grows faint;
lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

3 For you have been my refuge,
a strong tower against the foe.

4 I long to dwell in your tent forever
and take refuge in the shelter of your wings.

5 For you have heard my vows, O God;
you have given me the heritage of those who fear your name.

6 Increase the days of the king's life,
his years for many generations.

7 May he be enthroned in God's presence forever;
appoint your love and faithfulness to protect him.

8 Then will I ever sing praise to your name
and fulfill my vows day after day.

Chin Ling : I pray for God's love and faithfulness to protect me.

Dellia: This pslams speaks to me in that I must always pray for the authority above me and bless them! I must praise His name and tell of His wonderful deeds

Crow: I am reminded that even in times when my heart grows faint, His ways and power is higher than I..
