Psalm 98

A psalm.

1 Sing to the LORD a new song,
for he has done marvelous things;
his right hand and his holy arm
have worked salvation for him.

2 The LORD has made his salvation known
and revealed his righteousness to the nations.

3 He has remembered his love
and his faithfulness to the house of Israel;
all the ends of the earth have seen
the salvation of our God.

4 Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth,
burst into jubilant song with music;

5 make music to the LORD with the harp,
with the harp and the sound of singing,

6 with trumpets and the blast of the ram's horn—
shout for joy before the LORD, the King.

7 Let the sea resound, and everything in it,
the world, and all who live in it.

8 Let the rivers clap their hands,
Let the mountains sing together for joy;

9 let them sing before the LORD,
for he comes to judge the earth.
He will judge the world in righteousness
and the peoples with equity.

Joanna: Surprise! I am back to post on Psalms. Been reading but not posting cos I realli struggle to type anything on my rubber temporary external keypad cos my original spoilt. Also I have been procrastinating to do many things. Well this psalm reminded me to sing n praise the Lord all the time, that I can sing for joy in every circumstance, cos I know the Lord is faithful n true n the ultimate judge.

Chin Ling: Oh Great JO JO! thanks for the surprise! Please surprise me everyday! This is a happy psalm for a happy Monday! Yes, I want to dance like I am hot for Jesus. I want to Sing like I am hot for Jesus. I want to proclaim his goodness and how great a God he is because I am Hot for Jesus!

Eunice: God I want to continue to be that shining star for you, that when others see, they will praise my Father in Heaven =) I want to be jubilant for you.. always expressing overflowing joy..I pray for all my sisters as well, that you too, will be jubilant for him, rejoicing for your/ our triumphs, small or big..
God reminded me today.. to make a new song unto Him.. to make music with the harp ... err, guitar and my sound of singing! =) la la la laaaaaaa! Team meeting this Wed!!!

Huijuan: Yday 1 same qn appeared 2 times, one time during service, the other was when i was watching a VCD. the qn is "Are you happy?" I asked simon, he say he is very HAPPY! Thank God he never asked me.....cos i was feeling a bit downcast. Praise God, this psalm reminded me to rejoice in the Lord. To really have the joy back in my heart. Thank God for whoever who put up the kid's prayer.. think its jacq...it does not only minister to kids, it ministered to me, to get back the child like faith. :)

Aileen: it's all about praising God again and for me there are things that get me down sometimes but i want to praise the lord in my highs and my lows, trusting in his love!!

Dellia: Don't ever stop praising God..cos the stones will even cry out! This was what I was reminded of! Lord, I wanna praise You always and forever! In Good and Bad times!

Psalm 97

Psalm 97

1 The LORD reigns, let the earth be glad;
let the distant shores rejoice.

2 Clouds and thick darkness surround him;
righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne.

3 Fire goes before him
and consumes his foes on every side.

4 His lightning lights up the world;
the earth sees and trembles.

5 The mountains melt like wax before the LORD,
before the Lord of all the earth.

6 The heavens proclaim his righteousness,
and all the peoples see his glory.

7 All who worship images are put to shame,
those who boast in idols—
worship him, all you gods!

8 Zion hears and rejoices
and the villages of Judah are glad
because of your judgments, O LORD.

9 For you, O LORD, are the Most High over all the earth;
you are exalted far above all gods.

10 Let those who love the LORD hate evil,
for he guards the lives of his faithful ones
and delivers them from the hand of the wicked.

11 Light is shed upon the righteous
and joy on the upright in heart.

12 Rejoice in the LORD, you who are righteous,
and praise his holy name.

Psalm 96

Psalm 96

1 Sing to the LORD a new song;
sing to the LORD, all the earth.

2 Sing to the LORD, praise his name;
proclaim his salvation day after day.

3 Declare his glory among the nations,
his marvelous deeds among all peoples.

4 For great is the LORD and most worthy of praise;
he is to be feared above all gods.

5 For all the gods of the nations are idols,
but the LORD made the heavens.

6 Splendor and majesty are before him;
strength and glory are in his sanctuary.

7 Ascribe to the LORD, O families of nations,
ascribe to the LORD glory and strength.

8 Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name;
bring an offering and come into his courts.

9 Worship the LORD in the splendor of his ^[a] holiness;
tremble before him, all the earth.

10 Say among the nations, "The LORD reigns."
The world is firmly established, it cannot be moved;
he will judge the peoples with equity.

11 Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad;
let the sea resound, and all that is in it;

12 let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them.
Then all the trees of the forest will sing for joy;

13 they will sing before the LORD, for he comes,
he comes to judge the earth.
He will judge the world in righteousness
and the peoples in his truth.

Chin Ling : I WILL PRAISE THE LORD! Sing before him, Dance before him only cause he is God who chooses to have a relationship with me!

Aileen: I had to go back to work for a meeting today.. but i will praise the lord! hahaha.. let my life be a worship unto your name

Huijuan: It is so important to Praise God in our worship. Yday i went to watch three kingdoms, this is what i caught from the movie: in every start of a battle, there will be some soldiers playing drum to i think motivate those who are fighting. For application: To have victory and motivation, learn to praise and worship God. ok going to do my last assignment , blasting my laptop with Christian songs!!! hha

Crow: Sing to the Lord a new song.... sometimes i get bored.... but the Lord reminds me, sing to Him a New Song.... For in Him, the Living relationship shd not be boring!

Dellia: Woah..as I read the psalms...I really feel so happy...it's like a build up...with each verse, the climax just gets higher and it's so exciting to praise the Lord! There's so much joy and I know for a fact that when I praise Him, He too is excited!

Can i share something Amazing with u all???????

I was SO BLESSED to actually play a part in God's miracle today!

Today, We had a session at this school, and one of the very new coaches was not feeling well. 5 min before the lesson, when i went into the classes to ensure things were ok, she asked us to pray for her cuz she was having bad diarrhoea from last night, and her stomach was feeling all funny... Well, it was her first time co-teaching (supposed to be taking just a small part of the lesson with the other coach) and i was already going to tell her to take a rest instead...... but i saw the eagerness in her to teach and to lay hold of God for healing.... it was so sincere. And so we gathered together and i prayed a prayer of healing upon her, and that she will be able to enjoy these 2 hours of teaching...

Guess what??

2 hours went by just like that, and the few times that i poped by her class, she looked SO WELL, u would never have thought she was not feeling well! During the debrief, she herself was also so amazed that the Lord healed her!

aha! Isn't God simply amazing! hahahaa!

Psalm 95

Psalm 95

1 Come, let us sing for joy to the LORD;
let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.

2 Let us come before him with thanksgiving
and extol him with music and song.

3 For the LORD is the great God,
the great King above all gods.

4 In his hand are the depths of the earth,
and the mountain peaks belong to him.

5 The sea is his, for he made it,
and his hands formed the dry land.

6 Come, let us bow down in worship,
let us kneel before the LORD our Maker;

7 for he is our God
and we are the people of his pasture,
the flock under his care.
Today, if you hear his voice,

8 do not harden your hearts as you did at Meribah, ^[a]
as you did that day at Massah ^[b] in the desert,

9 where your fathers tested and tried me,
though they had seen what I did.

10 For forty years I was angry with that generation;
I said, "They are a people whose hearts go astray,
and they have not known my ways."

11 So I declared on oath in my anger,
"They shall never enter my rest."

Crow: It is dangerous and yet so easy for my heart to be hardened and not teachable to the Lord's word...Now i'm feeling weary, and i fear that i am not entering the Lord's rest.. But i feel the Lord telling me not to worry and so long as i constantly seek the Lord and keep watch over the way i live my life, He will bless.. Long time ago, i used to think that the israelites were very ungrateful, and how can they turn against the Lord.. but the past few yrs, whenever i read about the Israelites, i will be reminding myself that it is so so easy to be like them... to harden my heart and turn away... especially when things dun go our way... Lord help me to be watchful always

Chin Ling: Yes, may I always remember that The Lord is the maker and in control of it all. May I remember that what he really wants is to be able to fellowship with me and be my friend. May I remember to always look at my life and be filled with gratitude before of Jesus. May I always remamber that Jesus is my Lord and saviour. May I remember that it is God's command to enter his rest. May I always remember!

Eunice: Oh Lord, I pray for a heart that will always sing of your joy, and give thanksgiving. God, take away my spirit of complaining or commenting, or whatever that is called. I want to be obedient to you, to seek your kingdom first. I agree with crow to say that it is so easy, to harden my heart and walk away. God, I do not want to walk away from you. Teach me to always bow down in worship and kneel before you! For indeed, you are the Lord my God! Jesus, your will be done.

Pam: God is good and one that never fail to give us reminders.... The phrase "do not harden your heart" appeared twice to me this week... and I noe He is reminding me not to turn colder... And He gave ans to my "whys" this morning during staff devo. Lord, how can I bear to turn away from You when you love me this much? Thank you.. I am overwhelmed. :D

Huijuan: Let me not hardened my hearts but allow u to always mold me. Although at times i do not know what u are doing in my life, ut help me to trust in u.

Aileen: I think sometimes it's really easy for me to forget God and harden my heart. Sometimes it's so difficult to hear God's voice or worse recognize that it is him. So my pray is God please soften my heart. I want to be like Mary, i want to hear you and do what you say

Dellia: Lord, help me..that I will never harden my heart towards Your voice...but each time when I hear You, I will obey immediately.

Psalm 94

Psalm 94

1 O LORD, the God who avenges,
O God who avenges, shine forth.

2 Rise up, O Judge of the earth;
pay back to the proud what they deserve.

3 How long will the wicked, O LORD,
how long will the wicked be jubilant?

4 They pour out arrogant words;
all the evildoers are full of boasting.

5 They crush your people, O LORD;
they oppress your inheritance.

6 They slay the widow and the alien;
they murder the fatherless.

7 They say, "The LORD does not see;
the God of Jacob pays no heed."

8 Take heed, you senseless ones among the people;
you fools, when will you become wise?

9 Does he who implanted the ear not hear?
Does he who formed the eye not see?

10 Does he who disciplines nations not punish?
Does he who teaches man lack knowledge?

11 The LORD knows the thoughts of man;
he knows that they are futile.

12 Blessed is the man you discipline, O LORD,
the man you teach from your law;

13 you grant him relief from days of trouble,
till a pit is dug for the wicked.

14 For the LORD will not reject his people;
he will never forsake his inheritance.

15 Judgment will again be founded on righteousness,
and all the upright in heart will follow it.

16 Who will rise up for me against the wicked?
Who will take a stand for me against evildoers?

17 Unless the LORD had given me help,
I would soon have dwelt in the silence of death.

18 When I said, "My foot is slipping,"
your love, O LORD, supported me.

19 When anxiety was great within me,
your consolation brought joy to my soul.

20 Can a corrupt throne be allied with you—
one that brings on misery by its decrees?

21 They band together against the righteous
and condemn the innocent to death.

22 But the LORD has become my fortress,
and my God the rock in whom I take refuge.

23 He will repay them for their sins
and destroy them for their wickedness;
the LORD our God will destroy them.

Eunice: How true is v17. God Jesus, you hv reminded me today that is you have not given me help, if you have not carried me through, I would hv just "died". God I thank you today, that you will not reject me, and you have granted me relief in my days of trouble. God, your will be done, not mine. that you become my fortress, the rock in whom i seek refuge! Lord Jesus, teach me from your law, support me from your love.. Love ya God! =)

Chin Ling: I just want to say, God is so good.

Crow: Hello hello... Just want to claim v18 and 19 for my dept... that the Lord's love will indeed be our support... and He will bring Joy to our soul.... it's a tough period, but i know the Lord works for the good of those who love Him.. Lord thank u

Pam: I claimed v18-19 into my life. Thank God for loving me when I am unlovely. Thank you for being there when I need a listening ear. AMEN!

Aileen: God is the great judge.. just like in ps 23 " he prepared a table before me, in the presence of my enemies." Think in life there will always be some friends and foes, but the lord is merciful and protects

Sara: I find that this psalm brings peace to my soul at my work place, where unjustice or unfairness is not for us to avenge or to judge, for it is upon the Lord's rule, not mine. And where i find my foot slipping, my Lord will support me. When i find myself anxious, the Lord brings consolation to my soul. He will stand up for me, and hey, if He is on my side, why should i fear anything?

Dellia: The Lord watches over me and He's with me...just like what I wrote in Psalm 93...well...what can mere men do to me!!! =) I have God with me!

Psalm 93

1 The LORD reigns, he is robed in majesty;
the LORD is robed in majesty
and is armed with strength.
The world is firmly established;
it cannot be moved.

2 Your throne was established long ago;
you are from all eternity.

3 The seas have lifted up, O LORD,
the seas have lifted up their voice;
the seas have lifted up their pounding waves.

4 Mightier than the thunder of the great waters,
mightier than the breakers of the sea—
the LORD on high is mighty.

5 Your statutes stand firm;
holiness adorns your house
for endless days, O LORD.

Chin Ling: This psalm reminded me of how great God is, and in his hands, I have no fear. Nothing can shut the doors that he has already prepared for us, not the pounding waves nor the thunder of great waters because My God reigns and his statutes stand firm, no matter what! Ain't that great!

Pam: I am reminded of His majesty... how many times I choose to fear how people think/feel, how this and how that or why this or why that and His assurance for me is to behold His majesty... indeed prefect love cast out all fear.... n yes We love cos' He first love us. Thank you, my KING!

Aileen: something funny.. i thought the first line was "he is ROBBED in majesty" but i read carefully. how can God be a robber right? Than the second part was in part an answer to my boo boo, " and is armed with strength" then i remember that the evil one really is on the prowl and ready to rob us at anytime but thank God that he is armed! i think it really reminds me to be on my guard too just like how the lord is robed in majesty but is armed. I think of a king with a gun. cool

Sara: I was reading from the Daily Bread before I came to Psalm. The former highlights the Lord's gentleness as He keeps His eyes on the sparrow, surely will He take care of His people! And yet the latter draws of the Lord's strength, and Him who is firmly rooted! And while I am kept under Your covering and protection Lord, teach me to be firmly rooted in You and to keep my eyes on you!

Eunice: Indeed, my King is a King of majesty, and my one desire is to be with Him. Lord, you are reminding me today, that you will protect me. Even though I have been on this journey and fell, yet, you've picked me up.. Even as I walk thru this again, God, I have learnt, and I will be brave to walk through it, because you will give me strength and protect me. Thank you Lord Jesus.

Crow: The Lord is Great and Reigns in all Majesty. Lord may i never fail to see your splendor and instead try to do things on my own strength. We are indeed so blessed to serve the Almighty God! All praise be to God!

Huijuan: Its time to praise God! thank God i have 3 more assignments left. Thank God i will be getting salary soon..I need to learn to give thanks and praise His name!

Dellia: Indeed, praise God because though my class made things really very difficult for me during my TP, my supervisor was still rather "ok" with it and did quite ok too!
