Psalm 103

Of David.

1 Praise the LORD, O my soul;
all my inmost being, praise his holy name.

2 Praise the LORD, O my soul,
and forget not all his benefits-

3 who forgives all your sins
and heals all your diseases,

4 who redeems your life from the pit
and crowns you with love and compassion,

5 who satisfies your desires with good things
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.

6 The LORD works righteousness
and justice for all the oppressed.

7 He made known his ways to Moses,
his deeds to the people of Israel:

8 The LORD is compassionate and gracious,
slow to anger, abounding in love.

9 He will not always accuse,
nor will he harbor his anger forever;

10 he does not treat us as our sins deserve
or repay us according to our iniquities.

11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
so great is his love for those who fear him;

12 as far as the east is from the west,
so far has he removed our transgressions from us.

13 As a father has compassion on his children,
so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him;

14 for he knows how we are formed,
he remembers that we are dust.

15 As for man, his days are like grass,
he flourishes like a flower of the field;

16 the wind blows over it and it is gone,
and its place remembers it no more.

17 But from everlasting to everlasting
the LORD's love is with those who fear him,
and his righteousness with their children's children-

18 with those who keep his covenant
and remember to obey his precepts.

19 The LORD has established his throne in heaven,
and his kingdom rules over all.

20 Praise the LORD, you his angels,
you mighty ones who do his bidding,
who obey his word.

21 Praise the LORD, all his heavenly hosts,
you his servants who do his will.

22 Praise the LORD, all his works
everywhere in his dominion.
Praise the LORD, O my soul.

Dellia: Lord, thank You. Thank you for remembering me and loving me. That You will always stand by us and see us through. Lord, help me too, to bring this love of Yours to the people around, so that they will experience You.

Crow: My prayer as i read this psalm, is that my one response always, is to say, Praise the Lord! :)

Psalm 102

Psalm 102

A prayer of an afflicted man. When he is faint and pours out his lament before the LORD.

1 Hear my prayer, O LORD;
let my cry for help come to you.

2 Do not hide your face from me
when I am in distress.
Turn your ear to me;
when I call, answer me quickly.

3 For my days vanish like smoke;
my bones burn like glowing embers.

4 My heart is blighted and withered like grass;
I forget to eat my food.

5 Because of my loud groaning
I am reduced to skin and bones.

6 I am like a desert owl,
like an owl among the ruins.

7 I lie awake; I have become
like a bird alone on a roof.

8 All day long my enemies taunt me;
those who rail against me use my name as a curse.

9 For I eat ashes as my food
and mingle my drink with tears

10 because of your great wrath,
for you have taken me up and thrown me aside.

11 My days are like the evening shadow;
I wither away like grass.

12 But you, O LORD, sit enthroned forever;
your renown endures through all generations.

13 You will arise and have compassion on Zion,
for it is time to show favor to her;
the appointed time has come.

14 For her stones are dear to your servants;
her very dust moves them to pity.

15 The nations will fear the name of the LORD,
all the kings of the earth will revere your glory.

16 For the LORD will rebuild Zion
and appear in his glory.

17 He will respond to the prayer of the destitute;
he will not despise their plea.

18 Let this be written for a future generation,
that a people not yet created may praise the LORD :

19 "The LORD looked down from his sanctuary on high,
from heaven he viewed the earth,

20 to hear the groans of the prisoners
and release those condemned to death."

21 So the name of the LORD will be declared in Zion
and his praise in Jerusalem

22 when the peoples and the kingdoms
assemble to worship the LORD.

23 In the course of my life ^[a] he broke my strength;
he cut short my days.

24 So I said:
"Do not take me away, O my God, in the midst of my days;
your years go on through all generations.

25 In the beginning you laid the foundations of the earth,
and the heavens are the work of your hands.

26 They will perish, but you remain;
they will all wear out like a garment.
Like clothing you will change them
and they will be discarded.

27 But you remain the same,
and your years will never end.

28 The children of your servants will live in your presence;
their descendants will be established before you."

Chin Ling: V27 reminded me and assure me that Jesus remains the same and I can trust in his unfailing love. I am also reminded to pray for my spiritual future generation and my physical future generation that they will always praise God in any situation. A heart of thanksgiving and gratitude may arise in our midst! (V18)

Eunice: It hasnt really been a good start of the day.. but I am believing that in the midst of my tired-ness, my strength comes from him! Lord I thank you for being the same ytd, today and tomorrow, and you are the same God as when I first known you. Indeed, your name will be enthroned forever!

Sara: This psalm really reminds me of what im going thru this period... ahhhh... the prayer of an afflicted woman. I feel as if ive reduced to nothing. almost. But reading from the Daily Bread today which prompts us to Listen to God's voice instead of our own, and OBEY, i am affirmed and encouraged that I have done the right thing to listen to Him and not my own feelings which are more than deceiving. I'm glad that I fled from disaster and away from the confusions of the world. And Thank you Lord, that you did not despise me and ignore my pleas. Draw me near to you Lord, never let me go.....

Pam: I think today's Pslam reminded me that yah while in the midst of lamenting my problems... i need to come back and know that the Lord will not abandon us... He is our eternal God who loves me.... !

Crow: v27, The Lord remains the same, only He endures forever. Dwell in the things of the Lord, only such things have value.

Dellia: Lord, no matter what happens...I wanna always believe in You and trust in You, to dwell within Your presence.

1 I will sing of your love and justice;
to you, O LORD, I will sing praise.

2 I will be careful to lead a blameless life—
when will you come to me?
I will walk in my house
with blameless heart.

3 I will set before my eyes
no vile thing.
The deeds of faithless men I hate;
they will not cling to me.

4 Men of perverse heart shall be far from me;
I will have nothing to do with evil.

5 Whoever slanders his neighbor in secret,
him will I put to silence;
whoever has haughty eyes and a proud heart,
him will I not endure.

6 My eyes will be on the faithful in the land,
that they may dwell with me;
he whose walk is blameless
will minister to me.

7 No one who practices deceit
will dwell in my house;
no one who speaks falsely
will stand in my presence.

8 Every morning I will put to silence
all the wicked in the land;
I will cut off every evildoer
from the city of the LORD.

Chin Ling: Lord, Remind me to walk a blameless life. To praise you all the days of my life!

Huijuan: Lord help me to remain faithful and blamelss before u. Silence my mouth if i dun have anything good to share.

Sara: Trying to lead a blameless life before the Lord is indeed difficult beyond imagination. Sometimes i find myself facing temptations but not having the determination to yield myself away from it. Yet because I know that I want to be near the Lord and walk in his house, I will cut off all temptations no matter how difficult it may be. Lord... be with me!!!

Eunice: Am going to teach my kids about being the salt and light this week, and the word spoke to me, reminding me how important it is for us to ’season the dish’ by being good examples and influences to other people. Today's psalm teaches about leading a blameless life. Lord I know I cannot lead a blameless life, but Lord, by your word, and the holy spirit, I will live. I want to speak only words that build.

Dellia: It really is not easy to lead a blameless life and so often times, we will stumble without even knowing it. Today Lord, teach me and guide me that I will be SENSITIVE to Your Holy Spirit and I will never ever harden my heart!

Psalm 100

A psalm. For giving thanks.

1 Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth.

2 Worship the LORD with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs.

3 Know that the LORD is God.
It is he who made us, and we are his ^[a] ;
we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.

4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name.

5 For the LORD is good and his love endures forever;
his faithfulness continues through all generations.

Crow: Haha, this short and sweet psalm seems to so succinctly "summarize" all the praise Psalms.. For me, i am reminded - Know that the Lord is God, it is he who made us, and we are his. Need to constantly think of the Lord's big plan instead of my personal narrow minded view.. HAha, sidetrack.. i really think this psalm is so short and succinct. Recently, i have been thinking that i am getting v lor sor and v naggy... hahahaha... things that can be said in a few words, sometimes i can take a long time to get it across. hahahaha. aiyo~

Eunice: God is reminding me that I am his sheep, and.. sometimes, I dont have to think of what to do ( cos sheep just eats grass... n be grazed.. ), or where to go, cos the shepard leads.. God, teach me to be obedient to your voice, wherever you may lead, I will follow. I must learn to be more thankful for the little things you have blessed me with, and worship with trus gladness. Indeed, the Lord Jesus is good and his love endures forever =) ... Amen!

Chin : Like Crow and Jacq, V3 really hit me and I felt that at that point, God was reminding me that he will take care of me because he made me and I am his. Like a GOOD shepherd taking care of his sheep, he will take care of the blind and wretched me! Oh my sweet sweet God! :P

Pam: A very uplifting Pslam! I guess for me is the focus is always on the 1st two n the last two verses... but actually v3 speak the most abt who our Father is... indeed He is not juz a King who lord over us but a shepherd who cares for us... wow.. one who excerise authority with love... thx God!

Aileen: I think the psalms this entire week is very uplifting and sweet!

Sara: I sing songs of joy simply because it is to the Lord! And his faithfulness and ever-lasting love is really encouraging. =)

Dellia: I'm reminded of the song. "Enter His gates with thanksgiving, enter His courts with praise, come now and bow down before Him, lift Your hands in praise, lift Your voice and sing!" Therefore everybody...come on and rejoice!

Psalm 99

Psalm 99

1 The LORD reigns,
let the nations tremble;
he sits enthroned between the cherubim,
let the earth shake.

2 Great is the LORD in Zion;
he is exalted over all the nations.

3 Let them praise your great and awesome name—
he is holy.

4 The King is mighty, he loves justice—
you have established equity;
in Jacob you have done
what is just and right.

5 Exalt the LORD our God
and worship at his footstool;
he is holy.

6 Moses and Aaron were among his priests,
Samuel was among those who called on his name;
they called on the LORD
and he answered them.

7 He spoke to them from the pillar of cloud;
they kept his statutes and the decrees he gave them.

8 O LORD our God,
you answered them;
you were to Israel ^[a] a forgiving God,
though you punished their misdeeds. ^[b]

9 Exalt the LORD our God
and worship at his holy mountain,
for the LORD our God is holy.

Eunice - The Lord Reigns, and let the Earth Rejoice for He is God! =)

Chin Ling: Today, God taught me that the reason for praise and exaltation is because God is holy! Praise is not circumstantial but because he is holy and good! We've gotten our balloting number for our flat - 707! (Very far back!) But, yet in my heart, I resolve to praise him for who he is and my hope in him is by trusting in his character and word and not at my circumstance. For that, I want to praise Jesus and exalt him over and over again!

Aileen: word got out that i might be leaving the organization and now i feel a little unsettled. But i will exalt the lord because i really believe that psb is such a blessing from the lord. Though i haven't signed anything (pls pray), i want to shine at my work so i can exalt his name.

Joanna: God reminded me that He is the reigning king in my life, every aspect of it. Am at a transition period where I am feeling a bit lost as to the jobs to apply and waiting for the response for those I applied. But God reassures me that He reigns over it. As I read, God also reminded me to live a life of holiness before Him cos He is a holy God. To pray not just for myself to do everything pleasing in his sight but for my girls as well.

Crow: v6-7 stood out for me... That Moses and Aaron were among His priests, that Samuel was among those who called on His name... And i told the Lord, Lord i want to be among those that you would list as your friend, as part of your army, I want to be among those who you consider your helper...

O Lord I marvel

Hey all,

heard a super nice song and taught it to my kids. Wanna share it with all of u. A very nice song that reminded me that I am still growing in the Lord and how I want to continue growing and serving Him. It reminded me as an old christian to be childlike as well.

Psalm 98

A psalm.

1 Sing to the LORD a new song,
for he has done marvelous things;
his right hand and his holy arm
have worked salvation for him.

2 The LORD has made his salvation known
and revealed his righteousness to the nations.

3 He has remembered his love
and his faithfulness to the house of Israel;
all the ends of the earth have seen
the salvation of our God.

4 Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth,
burst into jubilant song with music;

5 make music to the LORD with the harp,
with the harp and the sound of singing,

6 with trumpets and the blast of the ram's horn—
shout for joy before the LORD, the King.

Joanna: Surprise! I am back to post on Psalms. Been reading but not posting cos I realli struggle to type anything on my rubber temporary external keypad cos my original spoilt. Also I have been procrastinating to do many things. Well this psalm reminded me to sing n praise the Lord all the time, that I can sing for joy in every circumstance, cos I know the Lord is faithful n true n the ultimate judge.

Chin Ling: Oh Great JO JO! thanks for the surprise! Please surprise me everyday! This is a happy psalm for a happy Monday! Yes, I want to dance like I am hot for Jesus. I want to Sing like I am hot for Jesus. I want to proclaim his goodness and how great a God he is because I am Hot for Jesus!

Eunice: God I want to continue to be that shining star for you, that when others see, they will praise my Father in Heaven =) I want to be jubilant for you.. always expressing overflowing joy..I pray for all my sisters as well, that you too, will be jubilant for him, rejoicing for your/ our triumphs, small or big..
God reminded me today.. to make a new song unto Him.. to make music with the harp ... err, guitar and my sound of singing! =) la la la laaaaaaa! Team meeting this Wed!!!

Huijuan: Yday 1 same qn appeared 2 times, one time during service, the other was when i was watching a VCD. the qn is "Are you happy?" I asked simon, he say he is very HAPPY! Thank God he never asked me.....cos i was feeling a bit downcast. Praise God, this psalm reminded me to rejoice in the Lord. To really have the joy back in my heart. Thank God for whoever who put up the kid's prayer.. think its jacq...it does not only minister to kids, it ministered to me, to get back the child like faith. :)

Aileen: it's all about praising God again and for me there are things that get me down sometimes but i want to praise the lord in my highs and my lows, trusting in his love!!

Dellia: Don't ever stop praising God..cos the stones will even cry out! This was what I was reminded of! Lord, I wanna praise You always and forever! In Good and Bad times!
