Ezekiel 36:33-36
'This is what the Sovereign Lord says: On the day I cleanse you from all your sins, I will resettle your towns and the ruins will be built. The desolate land will be cultivated instead of lying desolate in the sight of all who pass through it. They will say, "This land that was laid waste has become like the garden of Eden; the cities that were lying in ruins, desolate and destroyed, are now fortified and inhabited." Then the nations around you that remain will know that I the Lord have rebuilt what was destroyed and have replanted what was desolate. I the Lord have spoken, and I will do it.'
I believe that the lord likes to bless. Even while I was doing my quiet time, I really felt the words "become like the garden of Eden" jumping out at me. The garden of Eden is the best symbol of beauty and serenity and God wants to make us just like it.
I know that there are times where I do things that God isn't pleased with and after a while it becomes a recurring problem. Slowly but surely, the once beautiful plot of land that the lord had given me, becomes more and more desolate. But I thank God cause there's hope!
When we look at our lives, at how we have sometimes stumbled and fallen. I thank God that he still wants to rebuilt what was destroyed. I believe in the lord's words and I believe that no matter how bad we think we are or how little patience we have left in our people, the lord wants to replant and to give us life.
It is when I come to the end of myself and really am forced to sit at the lord's feet, that I remember that his ways are higher than our ways. He wants to make us the garden of Eden.
"I the lord have spoken, and I will do it."
