Psalm 24

Psalm 24

Of David. A psalm.
1 The earth is the LORD's, and everything in it,
the world, and all who live in it;

2 for he founded it upon the seas
and established it upon the waters.

3 Who may ascend the hill of the LORD ?
Who may stand in his holy place?

4 He who has clean hands and a pure heart,
who does not lift up his soul to an idol
or swear by what is false. [a]

5 He will receive blessing from the LORD
and vindication from God his Savior.

6 Such is the generation of those who seek him,
who seek your face, O God of Jacob. [b]
Selah

7 Lift up your heads, O you gates;
be lifted up, you ancient doors,
that the King of glory may come in.

8 Who is this King of glory?
The LORD strong and mighty,
the LORD mighty in battle.

9 Lift up your heads, O you gates;
lift them up, you ancient doors,
that the King of glory may come in.

10 Who is he, this King of glory?
The LORD Almighty—
he is the King of glory.

Chin Ling: V7 and V9 was repeated and to me it is significant because its a reminder to continue to look at God's goodness and lift my head up in hope of Jesus despite any circumstances. Lord Jesus, I pray that my heart will always rejoice in hope of you and not according to the circumstance. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Jacq: The earth is the Lord's, and everything in it. Every single thing, every single creature. The Lord made me, to be victorious. God even as I continue to hide in the shadow of your wings, teach me to stand strong, and remember that you are my King of Glory. Amen!

Aileen: Again i'm reminded of righteousness. Gosh.. i was sitting at my cubicle, drinking tea and looking at this wooden name thing i have that says.. Aileen.. Bearer of Light.. "and he shall bring forth thy righteousness.." TIAN AH! so righteousnes... gosh.. it's hard at the work place sometimes.. jia you

Joanna: This Psalm reminds me of who my God is and how I need to allow the King of glory to come and shine into my heart again. Ps. Debra's notes mentioned at the last part if there was any negative thought about myself that I need to get rid of and I immediately thought of my self-esteem now. I have allowed negative thoughts saying that I cant do it, I am not good enough for certain jobs till I have forgotten how great my God is. Hence, I am convicted to allow God's glory to shine in my life again=)

Crow: Yup, we need to always lift up our heads to let the King of Glory come in and do His work.. and not frown at our problems.... Haha, i think it's when we have clean hands and a pure heart, then can we ascend on His holy hill, and have the birds eye view - to see from His master plan... and i know in all things, God works for the good of those who love him.... :)

DEllia: I want to ascend the hill of the Lord and stand in his holy place! Lord I pray...give me clean hands and a pure heart! As I read this, I'm reminded that one day in His courts is better than a thousand else where.........! But so often times, the things that we do are so different from what we want...therefore, all I really want is than to please the Lord in all that I do. Work for God and not for men.

Sara: David started off with a simple yet so precise sentence that no one can argue against - that indeed the Lord created the earth and all of us in it, and we all belong to Him. Yup, I belong to Him and I pray that I will among that very generation who seek Him all the days of my life!
