Psalm 29

A psalm of David.

1 Ascribe to the LORD, O mighty ones,
ascribe to the LORD glory and strength.

2 Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name;

worship the LORD in the splendor of his [a] holiness.

3 The voice of the LORD is over the waters;
the God of glory thunders,
the LORD thunders over the mighty waters.

4 The voice of the LORD is powerful;
the voice of the LORD is majestic.

5 The voice of the LORD breaks the cedars;
the LORD breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon.

6 He makes Lebanon skip like a calf,
Sirion ^[b] like a young wild ox.

7 The voice of the LORD strikes
with flashes of lightning.

8 The voice of the LORD shakes the desert;
the LORD shakes the Desert of Kadesh.

9 The voice of the LORD twists the oaks ^[c]
and strips the forests bare.
And in his temple all cry, "Glory!"

10 The LORD sits ^[d] enthroned over the flood;
the LORD is enthroned as King forever.

11 The LORD gives strength to his people;
the LORD blesses his people with peace.

Jacq: This psalm is like telling me, how powerful God is.. What are the things He can do, to be "wicked" but he doesnt choose too, cos he loves us. This is a reminder of a hardened heart. That the Lord is griefed by hardened hearts, and he will come n punish those, in His wicked ways. Today, he is extending his hand to us, and his mercy.. my dear sisters, if there is one part of your heart tht is hardened today, wont you tell the Lord to come n have mercy on you?

Chin Ling : This psalm focused on the greatest of the Lord, drawing special attention to his voice. It makes me feel so loved, treasured by God when I hear that his voice is so powerful and awesomely loud that all creation hails to him. Yet, when he speaks to me, all I know is that his voice is calming, still, assuring and soft. God chooses to speak to us like that because he loves me. I want to listen at his feet to his still, small voice.

Crow: Was reminded of this song -
Ascribe greatness to our God the Rock; His Work is Perfect, and All His ways are Just..

A God of faithfulness and without injustice.. Good and Upright is He..

Indeed God is really great, all His work is Perfect, all His ways are just... He is faithful, without injustice.... and i claim v11, the Lord gives strength to his people, the Lord blesses His people with Peace.... :)

Dellia: Woah woah..! The voice of the Lord is everywhere & when I first read it, I'm like...wow...God, You are Almighty & great! But as I meditate...I realised that the Lord wants to speak to each of us everyday and His voice is everywhere...the question is: do we wait & listen to the voice of the Lord. Let's pause and take time, to wait upon Him & hear His voice!

Pam: Hee.. realli reminded tat how I can get realli scare when I hear thunders... how I can get fightened by the physical things when I have an ALmighty God! Haha... yup... be @ peace to hear Him... i need to hear Him!!

Aileen: Er God.. can you go and talk to my boss?? hahahaha well nothing happened yesterday and while i was looking at this verse today.. seriously what came to me was.. God can you please go and use your voice like THUNDER on the school management?? hahahahahah but more importantly, i'm reminded of the lord's strength and peace.. so i believe!

Sara: I like this Psalm alot, coz it doesnt focus on man, but on God himself, and His greatness! vs 2 especially, where it tells us to ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name! Just like how the Lord will never shortchange us and always wants to bless his people, I pray that with my lips, my actions, my thoughts, my attitude in all circumstances, i will be able to give Him all the glory due to him and not shortchange Him as well!

Phebe: God wants to grants me His strength and His blessings of peace. Today as i was on my way to school....God spoke to me and told me that despite everything that has happened and the issues i need to face with...God hasn't forgetten about me..and He never will. :) i'm blessed with His assurance.
